A native of the Pacific Northwest Josh attended Washington State University – Vancouver in 2008 and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science in 2012. Since college, Josh has worked as a medical scribe for various disciplines in medicine including primary care, urgent care and ophthalmology. Josh has been with The Devers Eye Institute since 2014 and has been a scribe for the Cornea Service since January 2015.
Josh is currently preparing for medical school. He has seen the difference that excellent health care can make in a patient’s life, particularly under the guidance of Dr. Straiko and Dr. Terry, and is eager to pursue his love of science and passion for helping people as a medical care provider. He anticipates that he will be in medical school by Fall 2018.
Josh enjoys several hobbies/activities including Sports: primarily soccer where he has several tournament and state championships at both the club and high school level to his credit; Cooking: his favorite dish to prepare is sous-vide Ribeye with sautéed mushrooms and asparagus with rosemary-seasoned red potatoes; Car Restoration: his current project is a 1964 Chevrolet Pickup.
Josh lives with his beautiful wife, Kaelyn, and their playful dog, Bane, on their houseboat in Washington
