P James Sanchez, M.D., is a board-certified eye surgeon who specializes in corneal transplantation, external eye disease, cataract surgery with advanced-technology lens implantation, reconstruction of the cornea, lens, and iris, and laser vision correction. He completed his medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA, and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery with Mark Terry and Mike Straiko at the Devers Eye Institute. After two years practicing in a high-volume practice in his home state of New Mexico, he returned to Portland to join Mark Terry and Mike Straiko in practice at the Legacy Devers Eye Institute. In addition to medical and surgical care of patients with eye disease, Dr. Sanchez enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, running, cycling, skiing, and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
