IOL Repositioning With Optic Capture and Vitrectomy

IOL Repositioning With Optic Capture and Vitrectomy
Michael D. Straiko, M.D.

In this video Dr. Michael Straiko of the Devers Eye Institute exhibits some techniques to correct a poorly centering IOL (intraocular lens). The patient was referred to him after a cataract surgery with vitreous loss. The surgeon did a great job of avoiding any nuclear loss but the IOL was poorly centered in the sulcus, there was a wick of vitreous to the main wound and some cortical material left behind causing inflammation. Following Dr Straiko’s surgery the patient went on to do very well.
